Before photo outside
This is where the client and I decided to install the outdoor unit. It was close to the electric circuit breaker panel in the basement and on a side of the house that was rarely used.

And here's what it looked like when we were done. A weed-wacker and rake prepared the way. You can see the heat pump is mounted up off the ground so it won't get full of snow and the grass can be maintained underneath it. Tubing and wiring are hidden inside that white enclosure that looks like a downspout. The tubing and wiring go to the indoor wall mounted units via the attic.

Master bedroom indoor unit
That looks great! Nice and level, no smudge marks on the wall, and the floor is spotlessly clean. You can see the remote control to adjust the room temperature sitting on top of the manufacturer's paperwork. This unit provides up to 12,000 BTUs of cooling for this room. It modulates its output up or down depending on the temperature inside and the temperature outside.

This 9,000 BTU unit also modulates as needed to maintain the desired set point. Both indoor units have occupancy sensors that back off the temperature set point when they detect the room has been vacated for a prolonged period of time.
